The National Book Scholarship Fund has had a strong impact across the country. The NBSF has distributed over two million dollars in books and materials and has made over 1,100 grant awards. Over 349,000 adults, youth, and children have used NBSF books to learn how to read and write. In addition, over 28,000 tutors have benefited through the use of teaching materials provided by the National Book Scholarship Fund. While the National Book Scholarship Fund's impact has been great, the need continues to be greater. There are currently over 90 million adults in America who read poorly or not at all.
